The fourth annual Silves Charity Golf Day jointly hosted by SICG and SdM will be held on Friday 6th July 2018.  As a result of the generosity of sponsors, members and their guests, in excess of 20,000 euros has been raised over previous events for charitable causes. In addition to providing financial support to Monica, the daughter of Fatima Josefa, who urgently required medical treatment for a degenerative eye condition, the funds raised in 2017 were also used to help both Bombeiros Lagoa and the Algarve Oncology Association.

Funds have been reserved to support Monica's ongoing medical needs and therefore the Joint Charity Committee has decided to make (SICG/SDM Captains Charities – Pirilampos and Gaivota Children’s Homes, Portuguese Alzheimer’s Association and Lar de Criancas Bom Samaritano (Alvor) the main beneficiaries for this year’s event.

The format of the golf event will be teams of four playing a Seattle Shambles, with minimum of 3 drives each and 3 scores to count. There will be a shotgun start at 09.00 am with a BBQ and prize giving at the clubhouse following the completion of the round. The event is to be held at Silves Golf course and the tee times for 120 people are already booked. The price for the “all inclusive green fee” is €30 for members of Pestana and €50 for non-members. Price for a buggy is €25.

The winners of the competition will be awarded the engraved Trophy and individual mementos. There will also be further prizes for the second and third placed teams.

In the afternoon we will have a BBQ lunch for all players and joining guests, including a Charity Auction and Raffle. The cost of the lunch for guests will be €15. All members of SIGC and SdM can secure either a 4 ball team or simply an individual entry up until Friday 8th June.

After this date entries will be made available to other Pestana clubs and guests.
