Golf Club Walk – Senhora da Rocha

The May 2022 club walk will start at Senhora da Rocha, Porches.

Description

The walk starts at Lord’s bar, this is a relatively short walk being just over 6km in length, around 2 hours including a stop at Praia de Albandeira beach.  The walk is across the cliffs from Senhora de Rocha to Albandeira beach, where we will head inland and make our way through the countryside back to our starting point.

Whilst for the majority of the walk the paths are excellent, there is one area of the walk where you will have to climb up a rocky path to pass Praia do Barranco.

Meeting Point/Parking

We will meet Lord’s at 10:30 for a 10:45 start.  There is plenty of parking in the vicinity, however, if it is busy there is additional parking 250 metres prior to the bar on the in-road. The bar opens at 09:00, so you should be able to obtain refreshments prior to the walk.

Equipment

Walking boots are advisable, however, sturdy walking shoes or trainers will be OK.  The intention is to have a beverage stop at Albandeira beach.

Lunch after the walk

Lunch will be at Cafe Aurora which is not far from Lord's Bar. Just drive back the way you came and after the first big bump turn right (sign posted Vila de Italia). The restaurant is 30 meters down the road. 

Alona will serve a few different quiches, served with salad, followed by dessert. Drinks will be charged seperately.
