Shake of the cobwebs with an early New Year walk.
The walk sets off from the Alvor fishermen huts and takes in part of the boardwalk and then back into the centre and walk on the footpaths adjacent to the Ribeira de Odiáxere. The walk is 7.25 K, for those that would just like a gentle stroll it is possible to do the boardwalk only and meet at the restaurant for lunch. Non-Walkers are also welcome to join us for lunch.
Meeting Point/Parking
There is plenty of parking by the fishermen huts in the centre of Alvor. If you park here, we will meet in the car park at 10:45 ready to walk at 11:00, there are plenty of cafés if you would like to arrive earlier and take in refreshments.
Equipment
Walking boots are advisable, however, sturdy walking shoes or trainers (with good grips) will be OK. As we are stopping for lunch you should not require food for the walk, however, it is advisable to take plenty of liquid.
Please note that the walks organised by SDM or their representatives are done so on a voluntary basis and the club or organisers cannot be held responsible for your personal safety.
Lunch at Lyric Restaurant
We have selected the Lyric restaurant for lunch, the address is: R. Marquês de Pombal, 8500-013 Alvor. The restaurant was opened at the beginning of the year and specialises in homecooked food. If there are sufficient numbers then the restaurant will be opened for our sole use.
Menu
The cost of the meal is 25€, including soup, main course, coffee, wine & beer, desserts can be purchased at a cost of 5.50€. The restaurant has allowed approximately ½ bottle of wine per person.
