The next club walk is around the Lagos boardwalk on 1st May 2026, details as follows:
Description
The walk is around the Lagos boardwalk and takes in the old city walls of Lagos. The walk is approximately 7km and is relatively flat apart from having quite a few steps on the boardwalk.
It starts at Lagos Marina, crossing the footbridge and following the marina inlet until you reach the sea and boardwalk. We will follow the boardwalk all the way to Ponte Piedade and the lighthouse. From here, we head inland and walk alongside a short section of the old city walls, down through the city streets until we reach the restaurant.
Meeting Point/Parking
We will meet at 10:45hrs for a 11:00hrs start near the days of adventure meeting point on the corner of the marina, next to Amuras bar. There is plenty of free parking on waste ground opposite railway station in Lagos, then just a short walk to the meeting point.
As an option, you may wish to take the train to Lagos, there is a Faro train that gets into Lagos around 10:40 and trains back at 15:09, 17:20, with the last one being 20:11.
Equipment
This walk is either on paved walkways, or the boardwalk and therefore trainers will be an acceptable form of footwear. As this is a short walk you should not require food for the walk, however, it is advisable to take liquid, as hopefully the weather will be warm.
Lunch
If you do not wish to walk, you could have a stroll around Lagos and meet us at the Restaurant for lunch, which has been booked for 13:00 hrs.
We have booked lunch at Mare restaurant in Lagos; this restaurant is above the municipal market on Avenida dos Descobrimentos.
There are great views of the marina from the restaurant. Given the size of the group, they have suggested that we go with the Buffet and BBQ, which is priced at €25.90. Drinks are not included and as a guide a large beer is €4.90 and a bottle of house wine €15.90.
