23rd June 2023 SDM Club Walk
Description
The walk sets off from Victoria’s restaurant in R. de Poço Barreto, Silves, this is directly opposite Poco Barrito rail station. This is an easy walk of 7km in length and uses mainly stone tracks. There are excellent views over the countryside, looking towards Silves and the Monchique mountains.
Meeting Point/Parking
You will need a car for this walk; whilst it is on a train route, unfortunately, the times do not match the starting time of the walk. We will meet at Victoria’s restaurant, which is directly opposite Poco Barrito rail station. There is car parking outside the station and adjacent frontage. Meet here at 10:45 ready to walk at 11:00. The restaurant opens especially for us at 10:30 so if you would like a coffee before hand come a bit early.
Equipment
Walking boots are advisable, however, sturdy walking shoes or trainers will be OK. As we are stopping for lunch you should not require food for the walk, however, it is advisable to take plenty of liquid.
Please note that the walks organised by SDM or their representatives are done so on a voluntary basis and the club or organisers cannot be held responsible for your personal safety.

Closing date for entries on the website is 16th June 2023, after which date the meal will be chargeable.
