Description
The walk sets off from the Naval Club in Portimao and is an easy 7km walk. From the Naval club, we head towards the marina and then the boardwalk of Praia da Rocha, at the end of the boardwalk we walk through the town to the old fort and back to the Naval club.
I am sure that most people will have done this walk, however, it offers great views of the coastline around the area. Following the walk, we will have lunch at restaurant Do Cais, there are panoramic views from the restaurant over the river and Ferragudo. For those that find it difficult to walk, there is a lunch only option.
Meeting Point/Parking
Meet at the Naval club at 10:45 ready to walk at 11:00, there is plenty of free parking nearby. There is a café on the ground floor of the Naval club, with access to toilet facilities.
Equipment
Walking boots are not necessary, however, sturdy walking shoes or trainers (with good grips) will be OK. As we are stopping for lunch you should not require food for the walk, however, it is advisable to take plenty of liquid.
Please note that the walks organised by SDM or their representatives are done so on a voluntary basis and the club or organisers cannot be held responsible for your personal safety.
Lunch Restaurant Do Cais
Lunch is booked for 13:00 at restaurant Do Cais, the all-inclusive lunch price is €30 per person, the menu is as follows:

Main Course
Monkfish rice with prawns
Or
Sirloin steak grilled with fries and vegetables
Drinks included
Red and white wine, beer, water, juices and coffee
Dessert
Fruit salad or creme caramel ( home made flan )
When registering, please choose your main course and desert.
Note: In the event of rain, the walk will be cancelled, but as lunch is booked then we will meet at the restaurant.
The walk will be closed 1 week prior to the event, cancellations after this time will still have to pay for the meal.
