Today, it was my honour to announce our Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Gross Champions of the Year.

The competition consisted of two very competitive rounds, with the first round played yesterday and the final round today.

The Ladies’ Gross Champion is Ria Raap with a fantastic total score of 179.

The Men’s Gross Champion is Ronnie Wraith with a remarkable total score of 163.

I’m sure all members will join me in congratulating both Ronnie and Ria on their tremendous performances and on winning their respective competitions. They can truly say that they are our Champion Golfers of the Year.

On behalf of everyone who took part, and indeed all our members, I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Joost Rombouts. As most of you will appreciate, there is an enormous amount of work involved in preparing and managing a competition of this nature.

Joost even chose not to play today so that he could be at the clubhouse to check the scorecards and ensure that we were able to announce our winners. It was particularly great to see so many members on the terrace to congratulate our two very worthy champions.

The full results, including the individual Net winners and those finishing second and third in their respective categories, have been sent out by Joost.

Another great and very successful SDM event, and congratulations once again to Ronnie and Ria.
