The draw for the knockouts has taken place. These can be found via the Knockouts button on the left hand menu.

The draw will also be placed on the SdM notice board in the clubhouse.

Below are the completion dates for each round - note that these are the very latest allowable date and hence I would encouraged you to begin playing the games as soon as possible.

The dates are:

Men Singles Preliminary - 7th March
Men Singles round of 32/Ladies Singles Preliminary/Men & Mixed Doubles Preliminary - 30th April
Round of 16 - all events except Ladies Doubles - 30th June
Quarter Finals - 15th Aug
Semi Finals - 7th Sept
Final - 30th Sept

The normal practise is for the first named person in the draw to initiate contact but it is preferable that players communicate as soon as possible.

Given the current popularity of the SdM competition days the knockout matches are expected to be played outside these times however if people are experiencing difficulties we may be able to negotiate some slots with the various competition organisers (Thursdays in particular may offer some opportunities).

The games are to be played under matchplay rules with men playing from the white tees and ladies from the red tees. As per last year in the singles events the higher handicapped player receives 100% of the stroke difference between them and the lower handicapped player and in the doubles events players receive shots equivalent to 75% of the difference between them and the lowest handicap player.

Once the game is played it is the responsibility of the winner(s) to inform me of the outcome by email:

As mentioned previously the entry charge is €2/competition – so if you enter singles and both doubles it will cost €6. Please put your monies in an envelope clearly marked with your name and the amount and post this in the SdM box in the clubhouse.

All entry fees must be paid before your first match.
