On a cold and frosty morning this year's Captain Ray Groves was welcomed into his year by out going Captain Gary Edwards. The now traditional putting out on the 18th green by Gary was followed by Ray driving off on the first. Slightly different this year was the introduction of a hickory shafted putter and driver. Remarkable Gary sunk a long putt followed by Ray hitting a 170 yard drive down the middle of the fairway!

The competition was a two ball Seattle with a shot gun start with a fantastic 68 players entered. What turned into a glorious Algarvean winters day was complimented by some very high scores. The winners, George Cook and Pippa Tennant scored an incrredible 50 points.

The trophy was donated and presented by Nick and Dawn Mackinlay.
