A group of 39 members and their partners enjoyed warm weather and lots of fun in Spain. 31 golfers
competing over 2 or 3 days and 8 ladies of leisure who either, relaxed by the pool, indulged in Spa
treatments or went sightseeing. On the second day 10 people watched the fantastic equestrian
display in Jerez.
Another group went off sightseeing to Cádiz, leaving a group of serious golfers
behind. Three ladies enjoyed horse riding before golf on some occasions. The pleasant evening
temperatures meant we dined outside overlooking the golf course. Tuesday evening Stu and Kath
Deans held a General Knowledge Quiz, which was great fun.
We enjoyed the games of golf on what proved to be a challenging course, however some played
Congratulations to the champion Tommy Sundin, who walked and carried his golf bag all three
days. Amazing! Second place was Di Lawrence-Watt, third place was Chris Nickels. Nearest Pin
winners; Barbara Briggs and Peter Chapman. Longest Drive winners; Anne Rodriguez and Les Smith.
