November Captain’s Charity Walk

 The November Captain’s charity walk will be held on Friday 15^th November 2019.  This walk will start and finish at restaurant O Gralha, Vale Fuzeiros.

Description 

The walk starts at restaurant O Gralha, where there parking opposite the restaurant.  This walk is a relatively short walk being just over 6km in length, around 2 ¼ hours.  It is however, steep in places. Don’t let this put you off, as we have allowed plenty of time for frequent stops on the steep sections.  Along the walk we pass 4 menhirs (a tall upright stone) supposedly dating back to Neolithic times, some 5-6000 years BC.  There are also great views of Portimao and Praia da Rocha

 Meeting Point/Parking 

We will meet at Restaurant O Gralha at 10:30 for a 10:45 start.  This restaurant and directions to it are on Google Maps.  From the N124 (Silves to Messines road) take the M1079 towards Amorosa, pass through the village and take the M1080 after approximately 3km you will see the restaurant on the right had side.  Park opposite the restaurant and please double up with parking as there is not that much space. 

Equipment 

Walking boots are advisable, however, sturdy walking shoes or trainers will be OK.  There is no opportunity to purchase drinks en-route, so please take adequate refreshments with you 

Captain’s Charity 

A voluntary contribution of €5 towards the Captain’s Charity can be made to the organiser of the walk

Wine, beer and water are included with the meal.

The cost of the meal is a reasonable €15,Per Person

Closing date for entries on the website is 8^th November, after which date the meal will be chargeable.
