17 clubs took part in this year's Algarve Interleague Finals Day held at Oceanico O'Connor Course. The format was Stableford better ball with each team consisting of 6 players. SdM had a great day, only losing out on third place on countback.
The divisional playoff between the winners of Division A Laranjal and
the winners of Division B Alto was played this week.
The first leg was played on Monday at Laranjal with the hosts winning
a closely fought match by 3 games to 2.
The return leg was played yesterday at Alto with an even closer match
with both sides sharing a 2 ½ to 2 ½ draw.
The outcome of the two matches therefore resulting in Laranjal being the Algarve Interclub League Champions for 2013
Our congratulations to Laranjal and commiserations to Alto.
HI EVERYONE,
THE CLUB CONTINUES TO GROW AND PROGRESS - THANKS IN LARGE PART TO IT´S DEDICATED OFFICERS.
THERE ARE STILL A FEW MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS OUTSTANDING EVEN AT THIS LATE STAGE OF THE YEAR, TAKING US TO AROUND 120 IN TOTAL.
A WARM WELCOME TO ALL NEW MEMBERS AND I HOPE WE MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.
There was a record turn out of twenty eight ladies enjoying a calm if not cold November morning on Thursday when the ladies held their usual monthly Competition at Pestana Silves Golf Course.

This year's Foundation Cup, the second time it's been held, was won by Ian Chapman. A very blustery day saw some high scores with a huge majority of the competitors playing well below their handicap allowances. Ian however beat the conditions to record a magnificent 37 points including 21 on the back nine.

Well done SdM member Ginny Barrow on her first hole in one on the hardest of par 3's at Silves.

This year’s final was played between four of our experienced members and a very tight affair.
Bob Coe and Chris Price faced up against Club Captain Geoff Cox and Bill Goodwin. As expected is was a very tight affair with the first 3 holes being halved before Bob and Chris went ahead winning both the 4th and 5th holes,
