Another great weekend of fun. The weekend of June 16 -17 saw the annual SdM Captain’s Day and Reception. The format for the golf was a Pairs Betterball Stableford and a field of 92 players produced some great golf - well done to all those who won a prize but especially Gillian Duplessis and Wendy Emrich for taking the Captain's Jug home and to John and Kitty Usher for winning the Best Guest prize.

Congratulations to our team this week with an incredibly tough victory over Pinheiros Altos.

Four out of five matches finished on the 18th green with SdM coming out narrow 3-2 winners. Congratulations to all the players in a well fought match played in a fine spirit.

This win takes SdM to the top of the table again with a very good 7 point lead having played one game less than our rivals, we have the best points per game ratio in all three divisions.

Next week the team have two matches, Tuesday is our semi final in the Interclub Knock Out when we have a tough match at Palmares followed two days later with a home match vs Tavira.

Another fabulous home win for SdM vs Vale do Lobo 3.5 vs 1.5.

Well done to Nigel Cotterill on his debut and all the team on a great overall performance,

SdM now sit 5 points clear on the top of the league with a game in hand.

Another very good performance from team SdM saw us lose narrowly 3-2 away at Penina. An encouraging performance by many with the day remembered for the numerous birdies from all pairings in the match. 

An excellent win for Club Captain and Gary Bristow was the highlight.

The Fishermen’s Trail. 22nd - 26th May 2018

Following on from my last article advertising the Charity Walk , I am delighted to announce the completion of a superb 4 days walking on the Fishermen’s Trail in Alentajo. There were a total of 17 walkers that took part, some walking the whole route, some for 2 or 3 days and the majority walking the last day. Those I had the pleasure of walking with were: Maddy van Kleef, Jill Edwards, Keith & Alison Scott, John Corrigan, Nigel & Lorely Cotterill, Mick & Jodie Caudle, Mel & Karen Huxtable, Warren & Pippa Tennant and Richard, Gill & Sophie Usher.

Another brilliant team performance against a very strong side from Penina see SdM go to the top of the table. We sit on 26 points level with Tavira who have played 6 matches against SdM's 3.

Solid performances throughout the team, well done to Ian Williams on his debut and to Mick Girling playing his first game of the season.
